Over the last 25 years, he has worked extensively with the financial industry. Having conducted hundreds of advisor workshops and client seminars, his focus is to help advisors increase business in client-first ways.

His three books, Financial Freedom Without Sacrifice, Dispelling the Myths of Borrowing to Invest, and The Smart Debt Coach have sold almost a quarter of a million copies.

While Talbot is best known for his research and education on the responsible use of leverage or investment debt, he is also recognized for his work on strategies to maximize after-tax retirement income.

Talbot’s latest development is brandable Education and Marketing Systems to make it easy for financial advisors to help clients MAXimize results for core financial priorities. His first, “MAX your RRSP Strategy,” addresses the foundation of retirement savings for mass-affluent investors.

Whether speaking to the public, corporate staff, or the financial industry, Talbot’s focus is to educate, entertain, and inspire others towards what financial success means for them. He has started a “Help a Friend” campaign to encourage everyone to share valuable ideas with others.

Talbot grew up on a small farm, and currently lives in London, Ontario, with his wife, Theresa, and their three wonderful but patience-testing kids, Derek, Ryan, and Kristin.
